Can I pay for a new roof in instalments?

Do I need planning permission for a new roof?
Like-for-like roof replacement does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed, in a conservation area, or you want to change how the roof looks, consent may be needed. We flag this at the survey.
Can my old roof be repaired instead?
If the problem is in one place, such as a few slipped slates or a failed flashing, a repair is usually the right answer. If the felt has perished, leaks keep coming back in different places, or tiles are failing across the roof, a replacement is better value. The surveyor will tell you which, and why.
What guarantee comes with a new roof?
A new tile or slate roof is guaranteed for 20 years, and a new flat roof for 10 years.
