Client's Challenge

Our client contacted us after ongoing issues with her roof and flat roof area had started causing leaks and heat loss in the home. The existing tiles, membranes, battens, boards and three ageing Velux windows were all deteriorated beyond repair. The dormer area was also failing, and the flat roof deck required complete renewal. The customer needed a full, modern replacement that would restore her home’s protection and improve energy efficiency all completed to a high standard with long-term peace of mind.

Our Solution

We safely stripped and removed the existing tile covering, battens, felt, boards and all three old Velux windows. A brand-new 9mm sterling board timber deck was installed across the main roof, followed by a Marley breathable membrane and eaves support trays for proper ventilation and water protection. New treated timber counter battens and tile battens were fitted to create a solid structural foundation. At the dormer, we installed new flashing at the base and finished the area with fresh cladding boards. The flat roof was fully renewed with a new 18mm timber deck and a durable rubber EPDM roof covering for long-lasting waterproofing. Three brand-new Velux windows were installed along with corresponding flashing kits to ensure a perfect weather-tight seal. The full roof was then tiled using smooth grey Marley Mendip tiles, complete with inline tile vents. We finished the home with a new uPVC dry verge system and a dry ridge system for a clean, secure and maintenance-free finish.

Project Outcome

The customer now has a completely renewed roofing system, including a new flat roof and three new Velux windows, all installed to the highest standards and backed by our full 20-year warranty. The home is better insulated, fully weatherproof and visually refreshed. Most importantly, our customer has peace of mind knowing their entire roof structure is protected for decades to come, with no future concerns about leaks or deterioration.
