Detached Tile Roof Replacement in Gourock

Our Solution

The project began with the installation of scaffolding to allow safe and controlled access to the roof. The existing tiles and felt were then carefully stripped and removed, allowing for a full inspection of the sarking boards beneath. Any areas showing signs of deterioration were replaced before moving forward with the new system. A breathable membrane was installed to improve ventilation and moisture control, followed by the addition of eaves support trays to ensure proper drainage at the roofline. New leadwork was formed at all critical junctions, including chimneys and valleys, providing robust protection against water ingress. The roof was then finished using clay plain tiles, selected to retain a traditional appearance while delivering long-term durability. Marley hips and ridges were installed to complete the system, creating a clean, consistent finish across the roof. The site was fully cleared upon completion, leaving the property in a tidy condition.
